The Pinaka: Where Myth meets The Court

The Pinaka: Where Myth meets The Court

It Began Before the Game Did

The Pinaka is not just a name. In Hindu mythology, it is the divine bow of Lord Shiva โ€” the weapon that rose when the moment demanded absolute power, precision, and a wielder worthy of it. It passed through epochs and battles, testing every hand that reached for it.

When Sprentzo and Sorted came together to build something for Langoor United, the question was simple: what do you call a paddle that asks the same of you?

"Not a team. A pack. Not discipline. Instinct."

The brief was clear from the start. This was not going to be a conventional sports product. Langoor United is a mindset โ€” rawer, looser, built on the idea that the best players move like they've already made peace with both order and chaos. The Pinaka had to carry all of that.

THE DESIGN LANGUAGE

Kannada Script as Visual Energy

The surface of the Pinaka is covered in Kannada script โ€” not as decoration, but as an assertion. The letterforms of one of India's oldest living languages tumble across the face of the paddle in deep purple, lilac, and near-black, layered like the energy of the game itself.

The choice of Kannada was deliberate. Sprentzo is rooted in Bengaluru, and this paddle is a product of that soil โ€” of a city that is ancient and electric at the same time. The script is not translated or explained. It simply is. If you know, you know. If you don't, you feel it anyway.

Why Purple?

The palette โ€” deep midnight-purple, vivid violet, soft lilac โ€” does two things at once. It references the mythology of Shiva, the ash-covered ascetic who also holds the most destructive weapon in creation. And it maps directly onto the Langoor United identity, a brand built around the tension between stillness and explosion.

Two colourways were developed for the Pinaka: a dark version where the script blazes out of near-black depths, and a lighter version where the same letterforms emerge from a field of vivid violet. Same paddle. Different moods. The choice of which one to carry says something about how you play.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Destruction and Stillness Are the Same

The illustration work tells the full story. The warrior raging, arms out, energy cracking in every direction. The langoor sitting in lotus, completely composed, holding a weapon with the ease of someone who no longer needs to prove anything. These are not two different characters. They are the same one, in different moments of the same match.

That duality is what the Pinaka is built around. The mythology of the weapon is not about destruction. It is about readiness. About the kind of player who has already done the inner work, so that when the moment comes, the response is instinctive and clean.

"Forged in myth. Carried by those who play like they already know the outcome."

THE COLLECTION

Beyond the Paddle

The Pinaka paddle arrives as part of a wider Langoor United drop โ€” alongside caps, bandanas, and tees that carry the same visual language. The Kannada script, the purple palette, the Sprentzo x Sorted mark, the Langoor icon โ€” each piece is a fragment of the same world.

Wear the cap, pick up the paddle, put on the tee. When you walk onto the court looking like this, you're already making a statement about how you play before you've touched the ball.

The collection is available now. Welcome to Langoor United.
