I’ll be honest with you. When I first got involved with Sprentzo, I didn’t understand what the community was and why it mattered. But after understanding that over 5,000 people in Bangalore have shown up to a Sprentzo game alone, not knowing a single person on that turf or court, I finally understood how Sprentzo is a community-driven lifestyle sports brand. That’s the whole story, really. But let me tell it properly.
Right now, we run 70 games a month across Bangalore. Pickleball from Malleshwaram to JP Nagar, football under the lights at Rush Arena in Cooke Town, cricket in Gandhinagar. Sprentzo is everywhere. All people need to do is show up. And they do. Every week, reliably, they show up.
What I didn’t fully anticipate was what happens after someone walks onto that turf for the first time. The story becomes about them. They become the main character in their game, and that’s what Sprentzo brings you. The feeling of being one with the game, while also building friendships and, some might say, even family.
One member told us that when he moved to Bangalore, not knowing how to make friends, it was through Sprentzo that he found his people and, beyond that, a place to call home. Here’s what gives the Sprentzo team genuine purpose, watching someone go from “I don’t know anyone in this city” to “see you Thursday.” Watching a first-timer who was nervous about being the worst player on the court become a regular who brings three friends the next month.
We are bringing Bangalore’s adults back to the playground, 70 games a month,
5,000 players, spread across neighborhoods from Yelahanka to Sarjapur. And every single game has someone in it for the first time, figuring out if this is their thing.
That’s why we do this. Not for a metric. For that feeling.
See you at one of our games.
